Tourist attractions include the Museum of Deep Sea Fishing; the Angel Fort is a copy of Hadrian’s Mausoleum (Saint Angelo Castle in Rome); the Western Fort; the neo-Gothic church of the “Stella Maris” Holy Mother; the Lighthouse, and much more.

The Summer Stars Festival takes place every year in Miedzyzdroje, during which renowned theatre and film celebrities leave bronze-casts of their hands. You can examine them closely while walking the Star Promenade, an impressive street for pedestrians and just a step away from the beach.

Wolin Island is more bustling than any other time of the year during the annual summer Viking Festival, attracting “Vikings” from all over Europe. The island fills with warriors, craftsmen, ceremonial groups and Viking ships. Moreover, you don’t have to be a Viking yourself to attend the various attractions during the two-day festival and to have fun!

Beautiful coastline scenery, enchanting lakes, unique species of plants... this is the Wolinski National Park, a must for every tourist, located closely to Miedzyzdroje and Swinoujscie. It provides lots of hiking trails, which lead to picturesque viewpoints, and a kayaking trail. However, for most visitors the biggest draw here is the European bison reserve.

The islands are known for their fine, sandy beaches that make for summer swimming, sunbathing and strolling. Actually, Swinoujscie boasts the widest beach in Poland, but the one in Miedzyzdroje is also quite long and wide.

In the village of Wapnica on Wolin Island is the Turquoise Lake, which owes its name to its green-blue, crystal clear and glistening water. The lake was made on a site of a former open chalk mine, which ceased operating in the 1950s. To best appreciate the lake’s charm, we advise you to climb the wooded hills surrounding it.

While in Swinoujscie, it may be a good idea to take advantage of the town’s convenient geographical position and go for a day trip to Berlin, located only 160 km away. Swinoujscie has good rail and road connections to the German capital, where you can admire numerous historic relics.

There are permanent ferry connections to Denmark, a mere 150 km from Swinoujscie, and Sweden, situated 175 km away.
