Observe shifting dunes A trip to the Slowinski National Park is definitely a must while in the area. The Park’s prime attraction, the shifting dunes, spans some 750 acres and some of them rise to as high as 42 m above sea level. Observing these great dunes as they move makes for a truly one of a kind experience.
Fish In the Slowinski National Park you can fish from the shore or from the boat in the following areas: Lebsko, Gardno, Pustynka and Lupawa.
Ride a horse Horse-riding classes are available in the villages of Nowecin, Leba, Smoldzino and Smoldzinski Las, all three lying in the vicinity of the Park.
Cruise If you are here in summer, you can take a cruise through Lake Lebsko on one of the passenger boats: “Ohar”, “Kormoran” or “Alka”.
Ride a bike Cyclists will be happy to know that biking is permitted on all walking paths in the Slowinski National Park. Especially worth checking out are the two routes: one is called the “Dissolved Railway” and leads along an old rail embankment from Ustka to Rowy, the other is known as “The Checked Land”. If you do not have your bike with you, it is possible to rent one in Rowy, Rabka, Smoldzino or Smoldzinski Las. In Ustka are also group bike rides, organised every July and August.
Swim and sunbath Long, clean and sandy beaches of Pomerania are ideal for those who dream of lazy holidays. Entrance is free for all visitors who just wish to swim and sunbath on the coast and on the Park’s beautiful beach.
Sail Lake Gardno is an ideal spot to practise sailing – it even has it own yacht club.
Visit a museum The Forest and Natural History Museum, situated in Smoldzino, presents the variety and diversity of the flora and fauna that characterises the specificity of the region. The open-air museum in Kluki is also worth a visit.
Discover interesting sights in the area Although everyone wants their holidays to be sunny and hot, during less than the best weather there are still a plenty things to do. Why not visit Gdansk or explore some of the many interesting towns and villages, like Ustka, Slupsk, Zarnowiec or Krokowa.
CHILDREN
The Western City in Leba is a great attraction for the whole family. Children will also enjoy exploring the “Polish Sahara” – the extensive dunes of Slowinski National Park.
