arrowSightsee the towns  
Zielona Gora, Zagan and Lagow are the three towns of most interest to visitors. Collectively, they boast more than 2400 architectural relics for you to admire during your trip. Visit Boryszyn to see the Miedzyrzecz Fortification Region, a defence line from 1930s built by the Germans. While in Pniewo, you can visit the bat reserve, housed in old underground corridors (a guide is required).

These can be found in numerous places, such as Miedzyrzecz, Glogow, Kozuchow, Zary, Kostrzyn, and Siedzisko.

arrowKayak  
A number of natural waterways invite everyone to paddle down them, including the rivers Bobr and Pliszka. Considered to be the most attractive of all, the Lubrzanski Kayaking Trail is 12 km long and can be covered in about 10 hours.

arrowRide on a horseback   
For people who like active breaks, Lubuskie Lakeland offers ample possibilities for horse riding. Both advance riders and beginners are catered for. Many stables arrange carriage rides in summer and sleigh rides in winter.

arrowPractise water sports  
Apart from canoeing, which is undoubtedly the most popular water sport here, you can also hire a boat or go sailing, both very enjoyable and relaxing activities. Good conditions to practise water sports can be found at Lake Nieslysz, the biggest lake in the area.

Anglers will be delighted with the rich catches in the heavily fished lakes of Lubuskie Lakeland.

arrowHunt   
Those hungry for excitement can go into the surrounding forests to hunt for hare, fox, deer, roe deer and wild boar.

arrowHike and bike  
The beautiful forests make for great biking and walking, with both easy routes and the more challenging. Currently there are 530 km of biking trails and more than 115 km of hiking trails.

arrowPick mushrooms and berries  
A popular activity here is collecting mushrooms and berries. As the woods are so large, it is easy to get the impression that the trees stretch to infinity.

arrowSunbathe, swim and dive in the lakes   
Some lakes in the region have well-maintained beaches for sunbathing, swimming and diving. The water in the lakes is very clean!

arrowObserve water birds  
Birdwatchers have a wonderful opportunity to catch a glimpse of rare and protected species of birds, including buzzard, hawk, lapwing, plover, sandpiper, black-necked grebe, black tern, little ringed plover, common redshank, common snipe, black kite and red kite.
