Sightsee A pearl among the many historical buildings in the region of the Swietokrzyskie Mountains is the monastery in Swiety Krzyz, dating from the first half of the 12th century and now housing the Swietokrzyski National Park Museum. Some noteworthy sights in the vicinity of the Swietokrzyski National Park are a convent from 1633 in Saint Catherine, a church in Bodzentyn, Checiny Castle and a Cistercian monastery in Wachock.
Hike The area of Swietokrzyskie Mountains offers a wealth of hiking trails as well as interesting paths leading to many interesting locations of historic and natural interest.
Cycle A number of cycling trails crisscross the region. Experienced mountain bikers will find no shortage of challenging routes, only perhaps finding enough time to do them all.
Ski There are several ski lifts and ski trails suitable for all levels of abilities. Not far from Kielce is Telegraf Mountain, a favourite among the many skiers who frequent the region.
Climb The Swietokrzyskie Mountains are popular for rock climbing and cave exploring as well. A good place to visit is Stokowka near Checiny. There are also artificial walls for climbers in Kielce.
Explore the “Raj” Cave Located on the slope of Malik Mountain (271 m above sea level), the “Raj” Cave is an inanimate nature reserve which enjoys protection under Polish law. It is formed from limestone from the mid Devonian era and features a spectacular complex of stalagmites, stalactites, columns, cave pearls and bowls.
Practise water sports Kayakers frequent the Kamienna, Nida and Vistula rivers. For those more interested in sail power, there are good conditions at any of the following reservoirs: Brody, Chancza, Sielpia Wielka and Bolmin. A popular holiday destination is Cedzyna Lake, situated near Kielce.
Ride on a horseback This will give you lots of opportunities to take the saddle and explore the beautiful scenery. Horse riding can be enjoyed at different horse riding centres all around the region.

A great attraction for children is a visit to the “Raj” Cave or the Kadzielnia Geological Reserve in Kielce. In Baltow, near Ostrowiec Swietokrzyski, there is a Jurassic Park with models of dinosaurs where you can pass a whole day.
