Gory Sowie e Kamienne

arrowHike
Enthusiasts of walking tours will find numerous trails, from which to admire the beautiful mountainous scenery. However, we advise you to equip yourself with a good map, for it sometimes happens that the trail just disappears.

arrowBike
Touring by Bike, including extreme sports (freeride, cross and downhill riding), is gaining in popularity in the Sowie and Kamienne Mountains alike. If you are fond of spending your leisure actively, you will surely enjoy cycling trips on these scenic trails. Recently a new border crossing with the Czech Republic has been opened for both pedestrians and cyclists in Gluszyca Gorna-Janovicki.

arrowSki
There are several well-equipped winter sports resorts in Sowie Mountains, for example Rzeczka, Sokolec, Lomnica, Wielka Sowa, Jugowska Pass, Walim and Jagow, where downhill skiers will feel at home. In addition, the region is great for cross-country skiing - one of the trails allows you to get from Sowie Mountains massif through the Kamienne Mountains and finish up at the famous Andrzejowka refuge. The slopes around Andrzejowka provide ideal conditions for beginners to practise their skiing.

arrowSightsee
The highlights of the region include the fortress in Srebrna Gora and the German military underground complex in Walim (engrossing even for visitors who have no interest in military history). There are two accessible complexes, in Osowka and Rzeczka. Other towns in the Sowie Mountains area include Dzierzoniow, Nowa Ruda, Pieszyce and Kalenica (approx. 964 m high), with a view-tower. In the region of Kamienne Mountains, you should visit Chelmsko Slaskie, Krzeszow, the remains of castles (Wojaczkow, Radosno and Rogowiec) and the Glazy Krasnoludkow reserves (rocks 538 m high and approximately 1.2 km long).

arrowClimb
While the Kamienne Mountains offer few climbing possibilities, the Sowie Mountains, on the other hand, are well known to climbers.

arrowPractise water sports and swim
Lake Lubachowskie (Bystrzyckie) in the Sowie Mountains continues to gain in popularity among young sailors, novice canoeists as well as people who simply enjoy boating. Moreover, this lake provides an excellent swimming area.

arrowParagliding
Some parts of the Kamienne Mountains, such as the hills close to the village of Nowe Siodlo, are much used by paragliders.

children BAMBINI
Older children will be interested in visiting the mysterious underground tunnels of Walim. A few hours in the Aquapark in Bielawa should nicely counterbalance sightseeing.
