Bialowieza Forest is a pearl of European and world lowland forests. It is a kingdom of bison, the biggest mammal, and at the same time a paradise for the ornithologists. There are only few hotels in the area, most of the accommodation facilities are pensions and guesthouses, often stylized with regional art elements. The biggest hotels of a high standard are in Bialowieza and Hajnowka, where the Orthodox church is located. Smaller hotels and pensions are often chosen by the groups of students, while elegant hotels are frequently hosting businessmen who appreciate the closeness of the Polish state boarder.
