arrowHike
There are quite a few hiking trails of different levels of difficulty. The highest peak of this range is Mt Mogielica (1171 m), and we recommend trips to Cwilin (1072 m), Lubon Wielki (1022 m), Szczebel (977 m) and Snieznica (1007 m). From Mogielica you can admire a beautiful panorama of the Beskid Mountains.

arrowCycle
The mild slopes make the area a great choice for less-experienced bikers. Apart from special bike trails, you can use many of the hiking trails – and virtually all the summits can be reached by bicycle.

arrowSightsee
The biggest tourist attractions are in Szczyrzyc (old Cistercian monastery and one of the oldest breweries in Poland), Dobra (old church), and Limanowa (imposing basilica). A bit farther out is Lipnica Murowana with its old wooden church, certainly worth a visit.

arrowTaste traditional plum brandy
Lacko, a small town south of Limanowa, is known for its delicious and surprisingly strong (up to 80% proof) plum brandy, similar to Hungarian palinka or Balkan rakia. It is produced illegally; nevertheless, it is listed as a regional heritage as being of “cultural value”. Lacko is a popular destination in May, when the “Days of Blossoming Apple Trees” folk festival takes place.

arrowTrace the remnants of history
In 1914, the slopes of Mt Jabloniec witnessed a great battle between Russian and Austrian-Hungarian troops. You can still find the old cemetery, commemorating both the winners and the losers.

arrowVisit caves
There are several caves open for tourists – the most interesting ones have Karst formations, and can be found on Mt Lopien or Lubon Wielki.

children ДЕТИ
Children will enjoy a trip to Lake Roznowskie, situated on the border of the Beskid Wyspowy. It offers possibilities to sail, canoe or row a boat. A visit in Indian Town in Szczyrzyc is a great attraction for children, too.
