Discover magnificent wooden churches There are plenty of old Catholic, Orthodox and Greek-Catholic churches dating from the 17-19th centuries to discover and explore. They form a trail of wooden architecture, and you can find very interesting examples in Kwiaton, Wysowa, Bartne, Blizne, Haczow, and Komancza. The old wooden churches of Sekowa and Binarowa are significant enough to have been included on the UNESCO World Heritage List.
Explore local folk culture Originally the area was settled by Lemkos, an interesting ethnic group that was largely displaced to other parts of Poland during the “Wisla” action of the Polish communist authorities during the 1940s. Since then some of them have returned, and you can learn more about Lemko culture at the open-air museum in Zyndranowa.
Take care of your health You can improve your physical and emotional condition by visiting a health resort in Rymanow, Iwonicz or Wysowa. Patients can take advantage of the healing mineral waters and the fresh mountain air.
Ride on horseback There are many stables in the Beskid Niski, but the most recommendable place to visit is Gladyszow, where they maintain a group of traditional Carpathian horses (huculy).
Ski The Beskid Niski is one of the lesser-frequented winter sport destinations, although the slopes of Magura Malastowska offer good skiing conditions, with several trails for intermediate skiers and beginners. The area is a useful alternative to busier locations for cross-country skiing.
Try water sports The artificial Klimkowka Lake provides the necessary conditions for a number of water sports, such as sailing and windsurfing.
Visit caves The caves are unquestionably one of the attractions of the Beskid Niski region. In Jasiolka Valley is the biggest of the Polish Beskidy cave complex, while four of the most famous caves are located on Mount Cergowa.
Discover traces of the past For anyone interested in history, we recommend visiting the old cemeteries from World War I, reminding one that this was the former Austrian-Russian front and of the battles that took place then.
Visit historical sights Among the “must see” sights are: the monastery of Szczyrzyc, the basilica of Limanowa and the Baroque church in Dukla. You should also visit the picturesque old towns of Stary Sacz and Biecz.
Hiking and cycling You can make an attempt on one of the main summits, including Lackowa (997), Jaworzyna (881), Magura Malastowska (813) and Cergowa (716). There are also many other trails that let you just wander around, enjoying peaceful and picturesque views of the Beskid. Among the best starting points are Dukla, Grybow, Iwonicz Zdroj, Krempna, Komancza, Uscie Gorlickie, and Wysowa.

If you take your holidays with children, it may be a good idea to visit the open-air museums in Bobrka and Zyndranowa. To counterbalance the sightseeing, spend some time at Klimkowka or Uscie Gorlickie to relax by the lake.
